P2453BTA metallized spheres product line consists of solid, barium titanate glass microspheres with a 40-50 micron typical mean diameter, a tight particle size distribution, with an upper sphere diameter of less than 100 micron. The microspheres incorporate a hemispherically coated aluminum shell which provides maximum retroreflection. In bulk, these metallized glass spheres appear as a grey powder. Under an optical microscope, each individual microsphere displays a partial aluminum coating. Also see other Barium Titanate Glass Spheres. P2453BTA is a product of Prizmalite distributed through Cospheric LLC.
The spheres are offered in dry powder form with the following coating options:
Uncoated - no surface treatment
Silane Coating (S2) - for improved dispersion in aqueous systems (~76 degree contact angle)
Fluorochemical Coating (F35) - NEW FORMULA - for improved hydrophobicity to bring the spheres to the surface in solvent based systems
Fluorochemical Coating (F1) - RETIRED FORMULA - for improved hydrophobicity to bring the spheres to the surface in solvent based systemsPlease contact us at for specific academic pricing.
