SPRR1B Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain (a.a 2-89) containing 97 amino acids including a 9 a.a N-terminal His tag. The total molecular mass is 10.9kDa (calculated). Small Proline-Rich Protein 1B (SPRR1B) is a keratinocyte protein which first appears in the cell cytosol, but eventually becomes cross-linked to membrane proteins by transglutaminase. SPRR1B is cross-linked to membrane proteins by transglutaminase leading to formation of an insoluble envelope. SPRR1B functions as both amine donor and acceptor in transglutaminase-mediated cross-linkage. SPRR1B is expressed in the course of differentiation in squamous tissues such as epidermis, esophagus, tongue or trachea.
