      • Overview
        • RGS2 produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 231 amino acids (1-211a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 26.5 kDa. RGS2 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. RGS2 belongs to the RGS family which are regulatory molecules that act as GTPase activating proteins for G alpha subunits of heterotrimeric G proteins. RGS2 inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits and as a result driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form.

          Recombinant Proteins
          Purification
RGS2 was found to be greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
          Formulation
          The RGS2 protein solution (0.25mg/1ml) is formulated in 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH8.0), 100mM NaCl, 2mM DTT and 10% glycerol.
          Storage
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
