RBS Dipslides, supplied in a box of ten, are for general testing use. Tryptone Soya Agar with TTC (Red spot dye) and Rose bengal Chloramphenicol agar means most bacteria will show up as red spots.
Yeast and mould grows on the second side. TSA-RBC is used for the isolation and enumeration of yeast, moulds, and other fungi from foods and other materials. The TTC (red spot dye) combined with the Rose Bengal component helps in the differentiation of yeasts and moulds from bacteria.
After incubation, bacteria colonies will appear on the other side as red spots. TSA-RBC is particularly helpful for the detection of food spoilage caused by these microorganisms.
