Plant Protoplasts Transfection Kit can be used to transfect plasmids, Cas9/sgRNA and other proteins and RNAs into plant protoplasts. After a certain period of post-transfection, the transfected plant protoplasts can be analyzed for the expression and function of exogenous genes, down-regulation of target genes, gene knockout, or gene editing result, etc.
For protoplasts of A. thaliana, transcriptional changes (mRNA) of relevant genes can usually be detected 2-6 hours after transfection of plasmids using this kit, changes in expression of relevant proteins can be detected after 2-16 hours, and the gene editing result can be detected after 24 hours usually.
Plant protoplasts are important materials for plant research. DNA, RNA or proteins can be tranformed into protoplasts by electroporation, microinjection or polyethylene glycol-mediated (PEG-mediated) transfection. This product adopts an optimized PEG-mediated transfection method, enabling plasmid DNA, RNA or protein to enter protoplasts under the impact of PEG on protoplasts in a short period of time, with the advantages of conveniency and high transfection efficiency.
This product can be used in conjunction with the Plant Protoplasts Isolation Kit (C0362) for transient or long-term manipulation of exogenous or endogenous genes in some model plants such as A. thaliana.
