Pig spleen Mononuclear Cells (MNCs) are immune response cells that include lymphocytes and monocytes from swine spleen. Pig MNCs are used in preclinical research because they provide a convenient, minimally invasive way to study the immune system and its response to diseases, infections and therapies. Pig PBMCs are useful in understanding various physiological and pathological mechanisms in suines. Lab4Paws collaborates with a network of veterinary clinics to source animal biospecimens complete with patient metadata, indication and treatment.
Pig or minipig peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) have been used in clinical research because they offer several advantages, mainly due to their similarities to human immune cells. Other benefits have been identified as listed below.
• Similarity to Human Immune System
• Model for Translational Studies
• Compatibility with Human Genome
• Ethical and Easy to Source
• Reduced Need for Whole-Animal TestingPlease contact us at for specific academic pricing.
