Niobium diselenide is a layered, semiconducting material belonging to the family of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs). It exhibits superconducting properties and has a unique electronic structure. NbSe2 thin films deposited by sputtering have been investigated for their potential in superconducting electronics, as well as in the study of charge density waves and other exotic electronic phenomena.
