Nerve Organoid™ A-chip is a device that can fabricate long axon bundles (about 2 cm). After culturing for several weeks, the axons will self-organize into a bundle and extend into the far well. Cell body and axon bundle can be isolated separately for protein analysis, RNA extraction, and other molecular analyses.
• Chip materials: COP (cyclic olefin polymer; Zeon Corporation, Japan) Transparent, chemical resistant, heat resistant, low protein adsorption, low elution(US Pharmacopeia Class VI compliant)
• Outer dimensions: 38 mm (W) x 10 mm (D) x 9 mm (H)
• Microchannel length: 18.5 mm
• Selling unit: Available individuallyPlease contact us at for specific academic pricing.
Background
Amerigo Scientific provides proprietary culture chip devices for the culture of Nerve Organoid™. Each chip is made up of a microfluidic channel fabricated using microfabrication technology and is sandwich by culture wells at both ends. When culturing neuron spheroid cell body in one well, axons from the cell body is capable of extending into the channel to form self-organized axon bundles.
Our patented Nerve Organoid™ consists of 3D nerve tissue in a unique microfluidics device. The 3D nerve tissue is derived from human iPS nerve cells. It closely resembles an in vivo nerve with a cell body and axons that self-organize into bundles as they extend through the device’s microchannel.
Nerve Organoid™ features:
• Structurally separate neural cell body and axon bundle for ease of whole organoid, cellular soma, or acellular axon bundle analyses
• Bundled axons, morphologically analogous to in vivo
• Robust enough to be manipulated with forceps
• Suitable for long term culture
• Generated from differentiated human iPS cells; reproducible and highly consistent
