Ms-PEG4-t-butyl ester is a PEG derivative with a mesyl group and a t-butyl protecting group. Mesyl is a good leaving group and can participate in substitution reactions. The t-butyl group can be removed under acidic condtions. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the solubility properties of compounds in aqueous media.
