Background staining may become an issue with the use of secondary antibodies. A common cause of background staining is improper blocking of the tissues or cells. Blocking should not be carried out using serum from the same host species as the primary antibody as this will result in higher background. We provide a wide range of sera suitable for use in blocking applications.
