MonoMag Amine Beads are hydrophilic magnetic beads with amine groups. These surface groups allow covalent bond formation to antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules via primary amine, carboxy or thiol groups. Oligonucleotides, antibodies or other ligands with these groups can be easily coupled to the beads. Activation through EDC or Sulfo-SMCC is required. With their large surface area, uniform size, narrow size distribution and unique surface coating, MonoMag Amine Beads exhibit high binding capacity and low non-specific binding of protein or nucleic acids. Their compact structure also ensures faster magnetic separation than Hi-Sur Mag Beads.
Our MonoMag Amine Beads are also available in an easy-to-use kit format to enable researchers to conjugate antibodies, proteins, peptides or other biomolecules of their own choice to these magnetic beads. With the engineered MonoMag Amine Beads and the specifically formulated conjugation buffers, the resulting conjugates exhibit high binding capacity and low non-specific binding. The kit contains sufficient reagents & components for performing at least 5 conjugation reactions. Briefly, the magnetic beads are activated using SMCC (succinimidyl 4-(N-maleimidomethyl) cyclohexane-1-carboxylate) followed by conjugation to thiol groups that are present on the target protein/ligand. The recommended protocol has been used to successfully conjugate bovine serum albumin, streptavidin or immunoglobulin to these magnetic beads.
