Molybdenum diselenide is a layered, semiconducting material belonging to the family of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs). It has a direct bandgap in its monolayer form and exhibits interesting optical and electronic properties. MoSe2 thin films prepared by sputtering have been explored for their potential in optoelectronic devices, such as photodetectors, solar cells, and light-emitting diodes.
