Molybdenum/Chromium (Mo/Cr) is a metallic alloy system known for its high strength, good thermal stability, and resistance to corrosion. Mo/Cr thin films deposited by sputtering have been investigated for their use as diffusion barriers and adhesion layers in semiconductor devices, particularly in copper interconnects, to prevent the diffusion of copper into the surrounding dielectric materials.
