We offer state-of-the-art miRNA technology: Agomir and Antagomir. These specially labeled and chemically-modified microRNAs can be viewed as an upgraded product of miRNA mimics and inhibitors. Agomir is double-stranded and can regulate the biological function of the target gene by mimicking endogenous microRNAs. Antagomir, with a design that is based on the mature microRNA sequence, is single-stranded and is specially developed for inhibiting the expression of endogenous microRNA.
The Advantages of Antagomir and Agomir:
- Compared with common miRNA inhibitors and mimics, both Antagomir and Agomir have a higher affinity for the cell membrane. Therefore, the amount of transfection reagent could be drastically reduced.
- Especially suitable for in vivo RNAi experiments in live animals because of their higher stability and inhibiting effect. Furthermore, they can be injected into the animal by method of intravenous or local injection.
- They can be enriched in target cells, inducing effective, specific and stable interfering effects.
- The interfering effect can last a long time, at least one week; the longest interfering effect can be up to 5-6 weeks.
The Chemically-modified Construction of Antagomir and Agomir
Antagomir: 3’-terminal is modified by cholesterol, there are two thiol modifications in the 5’-terminal, four thiol modifications in the 3’-terminal, and the whole strand is modified by 2’-OMe.
Agomir: in the antisense strand, 3’ terminal is modified by cholesterol, there are two thiol modifications in the 5’-terminal, four thiol modifications in the 3’-terminal, and the whole strand is modified by OMe.Please contact us at for specific academic pricing.
