MBPSep Dextrin Agarose Resin is an affinity chromatography medium for purifying proteins tagged with maltose binding protein (MBP). MBP promotes the correct folding of conjugated proteins and increases the solubility of fusion proteins overexpressed in bacteria, especially eukaryotic proteins. MBPSep Dextrin Agarose Resin 6FF can purify MBP fusion proteins in one step. The bound fusion proteins can be gently eluted with 10 mM maltose, which protects the activity of the target protein. The MBP fusion part can be subsequently removed by site-specific proteases. In addition, MBPSep Dextrin Agarose Resin 6FF uses highly cross-linked 6% agarose gel as a matrix, has higher physicochemical properties, can withstand higher pressures, and can purify the target protein at relatively high flow rates, making it more suitable for industrial large-scale protein purification.
