L929 is fibrosarcoma cell line established by W. R Earle in 1940. This strain was derived from normal subcutaneous areolar and adipose tissue of a 100 day old male C3H/An mouse. Cells are APRT+ and HPRT+. L929 cells are used in studies of TNF-alpha, TNF-beta bioassays and cytokine assays.
