Indole-3-Carboxylic Acid (ICOOH), also named 3-Carboxyindole or 3-Indolecarboxylate, belongs to the group of organic compounds known as indolecarboxylic acids and derivatives. ICOOH is a normal urinary indolic tryptophan metabolite. In Arabidopsis, it induces resistance against the plant necrotrophic fungus P. ICOOH is also used as an anticancer agent and considered as a potential therapeutic agent for Alzheimer′s disease.
