      • Overview
        • Electronic identification systems are more reliable and unalterable than traditional methods of animal marking such as ear punch, toe clips, or tail tattoo. When the reader is passed near the chip, it powers the chip by induction, then reads the unique transmitted signal to identify the chip. Nothing in the chip is vulnerable to time passage or repeated usage.

          Features
          · Hand-held portable reader
          · Migration-resistant, small transponder
          · Suitable for use in labeling mice
          · Each transponder is sterile and ready for injection.
          · ID chips may be sterilized via convenient injector for re-use

The 56720 Portable ID Reader with Accessory Kit is a versatile handheld reader that withstands the elements. It is water resistant, durable and designed exclusively for the researcher that needs the highest quality and performance in a light-weight, simple operation handheld device. This reader detects both FDX-B (134.2 kHz) and HDX tags. Includes features such as time/date stamp, decimal or hexadecimal display and 1500 tag code memory capacity. The Reader comes with a combined battery charger/AC Power Supply/RS-232 comm. cable, rechargeable NiMH batteries (regular AA batteries can also be used), test tag, user manual and set of 25 ID tags with implanter.

          Migration-Resistant Small Transponder
A thin bioinert coating of parylene becomes bonded to tissue very quickly and prevents migration of the transponder from the injection site. The transponders offered by are suitable for use in labeling mice and rats. Each transponder comes in a single use needle, sterile and ready for injection. Chips are available in sets of 25 with an implanter, or in sets of 10 without an implanter.
