Idarubicin HCl is a hydrochloride salt form of Idarubicin which is an anthracycline antibiotic and a DNA topoisomerase II (topo II) inhibitor for MCF-7 cells with IC50 of 3.3 ng/mL. Idarubicin is developed in an attempt to reduce the cardiotoxicity and enhance the therapeutic efficacy of the parent compound. Idarubicin HCl is an inhibitor of Topo II α and an apoptosis inducer. Idarubicin HCL was used at 0.1 nM - 10 nM in various cell-based in vitro assays.
