      • Overview
        • (hfd-mcd) is a feed used to create a model of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in mice. The feed contains 60kcal% fat, lacks choline and contains 0.1% methionine. It increases fat and slightly adds 0.1% methionine on the basis of traditional MCD (methionine choline deficiency feed). Due to the lack of choline and methionine that can be converted into choline in the feed, the fat in the liver can not be normally transferred to the blood, so it accumulates in the liver cells and intercellular spaces to form lipid droplets, and then forms fatty liver. Compared with traditional MCD feed, it has many advantages. Due to the addition of fat and a small amount of methionine, animals will not lose weight rapidly and their status will not deteriorate rapidly after eating. Generally, they will form obvious fatty liver complicated with hepatitis within 6-8 weeks, and then continue to use it to form liver fibrosis and cirrhosis.
In addition, our company also has a high-fat diet with methionine choline deficiency with a fat content of 45 kcal%. It is also often used to produce nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
