Fmoc-N-amido-PEG11-CH2-aldehyde is a PEG derivative containing an aldehyde group and an Fmoc-protected amine. Aldehyde is reactive to hydrazide and aminooxy groups which are commonly used in biomolecular probes for labeling and crosslinking carbonyls (oxidized carbohydrates). Fmoc group can be deprotected under basic conditions to generate a free amino group. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
