Doxycycline Hydrochloride or the hydrochloride salt form of doxycycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotics performing antimicrobial activity against Chlamydia, Streptococcus, Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, and etc. Doxycycline inhibits protein synthesis by blocking the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to mRNA-ribosome complex. Additionally, this agent has demonstrated an inhibition of collagenase activity.
