DOTA-PEG5-azide contains DOTA and azide moieties. DOTA is used as a chelating agent for cations. Azides are commonly used in copper-catalyzed Click Chemistry reactions with alkynes, DBCO and BCN to from triazole linkages. The PEG linker increases the water solubility of compounds in aqueous media.
