DMEM Low Glucose Without Phenol Red And L-Glutamine And With HEPES is a Classic Basic Medium. Compared with MEM medium, DMEM (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium) has twice the content of amino acids, four times the content of vitamins, non-essential amino acids, trace iron ions and sodium pyruvate, and has two types of glucose content, the original 1000mg/L (Low Glucose type) and 4500mg/L (High Glucose type); this latter type in particular has found wide use in cell culture. Low Glucose DMEM does not contain protein, lipids, or any growth factors, and therefore should be used with serum or serum-free additives.
