The CyStain BacCount Total kit enables the detection of the total amount of bacteria in water samples. This is crucial for water sample analysis and for the analysis of the microbial ecology. CyStain™ Green is a membrane permeable dye that unspecifically stains all bacteria in water samples, emitting green fluorescence. A flow cytometer with a blue laser (488 nm) and detectors for forward scatter, side scatter, green fluorescence and red fluorescence is required. The Sysmex CyFlow™ Cube 6 V2m is recommended. The amount of reagent is sufficient for 200 tests when using manual sample introduction, and for 1000 tests when used in combination with an autoloader, such as the Robby 6 Autoloading Station.
