CYP1, CYP2 and CYP3 families are the major CYP450 enzymes involved in drug metabolism. Seven CYP subtypes, namely CYP1A2, CYP2A6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP2E1 and CYP3A4 are commonly studied for metabolic phenotyping of drug candidates by selective inhibitors.
