Clindamycin is a semisynthetic antibiotic and a derivative of lincomycin that is generated via the substitution of its 7(S)-chloro group with a 7(R)-hydroxyl group. The antibacterial activity of Clindamycin is mediated through stopping the bacteria growth via inhibition of the ribosomal translocation and the subsequent protein synthesis.
