Background
Fc gamma receptors (FcγRs) are membrane-bound proteins which control and mediate communication of IgG antibodies within the immune system. These receptors play a crucial role in the link between the innate and adaptive immune system. FcγRI, CD64, is expressed on dendritic cells, macrophages/monocytes, and granulocytes. Of the FcγRs, FcγRI is capable of interacting with monomeric IgG with relatively high affinity.
