Bromo-PEG3-alcohol is a PEG derivative containing a bromide group with a terminal hydroxyl group. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media. The bromide (Br) is a very good leaving group for nucleophilic substitution reactions. The hydroxyl group enables further derivatization or replacement with other reactive functional groups.
