Introduction

BJP 20 benchtop devices allow concentration of clinical samples up to 20 ml in volume with the optional expansion reservoir (10 ml without the reservoir). They can operate without a centrifuge and are intended for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) applications. The dead stop design provides maximum concentrate recovery where samples can be withdrawn without the need for glass Pasteur pipettes. BJP 20 devices have been used extensively to concentrate urine and spinal fluid samples prior to gel and immunofixation electrophoresis for diagnosis of multiple myeloma, light chain amyloidosis and related disorders. Savings of 30% have been reported when switching to BJP 20 from similar ultrafiltration devices.
Up to 20 ml starting volume
Concentrate up to 200x
• Applications
Concentration of urine prior to electrophoresis for diagnosis of multiple myeloma and amyloidosis.
Concentrate spinal fluid prior to electrophoresis for diagnosis of meningitis and multiple sclerosis.
Increase titers of bacterial antibodies (H. influenzae, S. pneumoniae, Streptococcus) prior to latex agglutination.
Simple concentration of biological samples and dilute protein solutions.
