Bestarose 4B and Bestarose 6B are SEC resin made through emulsification, washing and sieving on the basis of 4% and 6% agarose. They are used for the separation, purification and detection of biological macromolecules including polysaccharides, nucleic acids and viruses. This resin is often used as a matrix for affinity, HIC and IEX resins. The gel structure of Bestarose 4B and Bestarose 6B is fixed by hydrogen bonding, contributing to relatively soft matrix, poor pressure resistance, and poor resistant to autoclaving.
