AZO (Aluminum-doped Zinc Oxide) is a material used in sputtering to make AZO thin films. It mixes the great electrical conductivity of zinc oxide with improved optical and electrical properties from adding aluminum. AZO targets are often sputtered onto surfaces to create transparent conductive oxide (TCO) layers. These are key parts of solar cells, displays, touchscreens, and smart windows.
