This antibody recognizes specifically V.ordalii and can be used in ELISA (1: 8,000 dilution), Western Blot (1: 2,000 dilution), and indirect immunofluorescence (1: 2,000 dilution) assays. Vibrio ordalii is a Gram-negative, short curve rod-shaped, motile by single polar flagellum and facultative anaerobic bacterium. It is the causative agent of vibriosis which is characterized by the presence of skin lesions, haemorrhaging ulcers, serious leukopenia and a high mortality in salmonid and non-salmonid species.
