      • Applications
        • Application Description
This antibody can be used in ELISA assay (1: 100 dilution) and it has cross reactivity with atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and rainbow trout (Oncorthynchus myskiss). IgM is the only immunoglobulin class described in salmonids. It circulates throughout the fish body and performs the functions of complement fixation and opsonization. Salmonid IgM is a tetramer characterized by different degree of disulfide polymerization with identical binding sites. The heavy and light chains have a molecular mass of 70 and 25 kDa respectively determined by PAGE-SDS under reducing conditions. The tetramer is 780 kDa determined by gel filtration.
