EEA1 is a protein encoded by the EEA1 gene which is approximately 162, 5 kDa. EEA1 is localised to the cytoplasm and is involved in the innate immune system, activated TLR4 signalling and sorting endosome formation in CF. It binds phospholipid vesicles containing phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate and participates in endosomal trafficking. EEA1 is expressed in the liver, eye, heart, pancreas and adrenal gland. Mutations in the EEA1 gene may result in Bartonellosis and Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus. STJ96393 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of EEA1 protein.
