Amino-SS-PEG12-acid is a cleavable compound containing a terminal amine and carboxylic acid group. The disulfide bonds can be cleaved via a reduction reaction using Dithiothreitol (DTT) reagent. The terminal amine can be reacted with carboxylic acid, activated NHS esters and other carbonyl compounds. The terminal carboxylic acid can be reacted with primary amines in the presence of activators such as EDC and DCC to form a stable amide bond. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
