Amino-PEG36-CONH-PEG36-acid contains an amine group and terminal carboxylic acid. The amino group is reactive with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters and carbonyls (ketone, aldehyde) etc. The hydrophilic PEG spacer allows for compatibility in aqueous media. The terminal carboxylic acid can be reacted with amines in the presence of activators such as EDC and DCC to form stable amide bonds.
