Advanced DMEM/F-12 (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium/Ham's F-12) is a widely used serum-reduced basal medium that can culture mammalian cells with a reduced amount of fetal bovine serum (FBS).
The Advanced DMEM/F-12 medium has the effect of reducing serum supplementation compared to other base media because of the addition of insulin, transferrin, bovine serum albumin, ethanolamine, ascorbic acid, glutathione, and a variety of trace elements (sodium selenite, ammonium metadadate, manganese chloride, and copper sulfate).
Compared with classic DMEM/F-12, this product can reduce the amount of serum addition by 50% to 90% without affecting the cell growth rate and morphology, which reduces the possible influence of serum on culture conditions and extends the use time of the same batch of serum. With this product, cells such as MRC-5, SP2, MSC, Vero, CHO-K1, 293T, and Jurkat can be cultured without adaptation.
This product contains D-glucose, non-essential amino acids, phenol red, sodium pyruvate, and no L-Glutamine, HEPES.
This product is prepared using water-for-injection. The production procedures strictly follow GMP management regulations and are completed in a purification workshop that meets the requirements.
