Acid-PEG3-mono-methyl ester is a PEG species with terminal carboxylic acid and mono-methyl ester moieties. The carboxylic acid can be reacted with primary amines in the presence of activators such as EDC and DCC to form stable amide bonds. The hydrophilic PEG linker increases the compound's water solubility in aqueous environments.
