        • 4,6-Dimethyl-2-nitroaniline (2,4-Dimethyl-6-nitroaniline), an aromatic amine, is an important aromatic organic intermediate. It has been synthesized from 2,4-dimethylaniline and the crystal structure has been investigated. It has been reported to be determined by diazotization and coupling spectrophotometric technique using 8-amino-1-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulphonic acid and N-(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine as coupling agents.
