• In gradient elution analysis, impurities from the mobile phase solvents (such as mobile phase containers, flow lines, pumps, gradient mixer, etc.) can lead to the appearance of ghost peaks in chromatograms.
• The Ghost Clear Column is designed to adsorb and remove traces of impurities from the mobile phase, thereby suppressing the appearance of ghost peaks.
• The Ghost Clear Column should be installed between Mixer and Injector.
• Installing the Ghost Clear Column after injector would lead to strong adsorption of samples and affect analysis.
• Not all impurities can be adsorbed by the Ghost Clear Column.
• For new columns, flush the Ghost Clear Column with 80% methanol solution at 1 mL/min for 30 min before new column switching to the system.
• Ion-pair solvents in mobile phase would be retained by the Ghost Clear Column and affect retention and peak shape.
• Column lifetime depends on analytical conditions, mobile phase, solvent purity, etc.
• Routine change of the Ghost Clear Column is suggested to ensure performance.
