t-Boc-N-amido-PEG-Nitrophenyl Carbonate, MW 5K is a PEG derivative with a t-Boc protecting group and a nitrophenyl carbonate (NPC) moieties. The NPC group is reactive towards the amino group of lysine by means of stable urethane linkages. The t-Boc protecting group can be removed under acidic conditions to form a free amine. The hydrophilic PEG linker enhances the water solubility properties of the compound.
