t-Boc-Cystamine contains is a t-Boc protected cysteine residue and a cleavable disulfide bond. The t-Boc can be removed under acidic conditions to form a reactive free amine. The primary amine can react with carboxylic acid, activated NHS esters and other carbonyl groups. The disulfide bond can be cleaved via reduction reactions.
