Succinyl coenzyme A (Succinyl-CoA) is a crucial intermediate in the citric acid cycle, formed from α-ketoglutarate and propionyl CoA. It plays an essential role in heme synthesis and ketone body oxidation. A deficiency in succinyl CoA, often linked to vitamin B₁₂ deficiency, disrupts heme and energy production, leading to neuromotor dysfunction (O'Leary & Samman, 2010; Yılmaz et al., 2015).
