RAPSN Mouse Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 435 amino acids (1-412aa) and having a molecular mass of 48.8kDa. RAPSN is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.43kDa receptor-associated protein of the synapse (RAPSN), is expressed in the postsynapticmembrane of skeletal muscle. RAPSN is essential for the clustering of nicotinicacetylcholine receptors (nAChR). In addition RAPSN self-associates via at leasttwo of its seven tetra-tricopeptide repeats (TPRs). RAPSN interacts withthe large intracellular domain of the nAChR a subunit all the way through thehydrophobic surface of the coiled-coil domain. RAPSN modifies trafficking of AChR within the cell. Overexpressioninhibits agrin-induced AChR clustering pathway. RAPSN also plays a role inpostsynaptic congenital myasthenic syndromes.
