MW : 56.7kD. Recombinant Mouse Glypican-1 is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Asp24-Ser529 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus. Glypican-1 is a cell membrane protein and belongs to the glypican family. The protein may act as a catalyst in increasing the rate of conversion of prion protein PRPN(C) to PRNP(Sc) via associating (via the heparan sulfate side chains) with both forms of PRPN, targeting them to lipid rafts and facilitating their interaction. It is required for proper skeletal muscle differentiation by sequestering FGF2 in lipid rafts preventing its binding to receptors (FGFRs) and inhibiting the FGF-mediated signaling.
