ZG16 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 174 amino acids (17-167) and having a molecular mass of 19kDa. ZG16 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Zymogen Granule Protein 16 Homolog (ZG16) is a member of the jacalin lectin family. ZG16 may have a role in protein trafficking and may act as a linker molecule between the submembranous matrix on the luminal side of zymogen granule membrane (ZGM) and aggregated secretory proteins during granule formation in the TGN. ZG16 is highly expressed in the liver, but can also be detected at lower levels in colon, ileum and jejunum.
