VAV1 Human Recombinant produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 400 amino acids (189-565a.a) and having a molecular mass of 46.8kDa. VAV1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Vav1 Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor (VAV1), belongs to the VAV gene family. The VAV1 proteins are guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) for Rho family GTPases whichactivate pathways leading to actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptionalalterations. VAV1 is essential in hematopoiesis, taking part in T-cell andB-cell development and activation. VAV1 has been identified as the specificbinding partner of Nef proteins from HIV-1. In addition, VAV1 contains an SH2domain, which could show its function as a substrate for tyrosine kinases. Expressionof VAV1 is limited solely to cells of hematopoietic origin, as well as those ofthe erythroid, lymphoid and myeloid lineages. Among the diseases associatedwith VAV1 are cherubism, and hiv-1.
