- Overview
  - SIRT3 produced in E. Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 303 amino acids (118-399a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 33.5kDa. SIRT3 is fused to a 21 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. SIRT3 is a member of a family of proteins called Sirtuin. Proteins of the Sirtuin family are characterized by a Sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The roles of human Sirtuins are numerous and are important in aging prosseses, stress resistance and metabolic regulation. SIRT3 shows NAD+-dependent deacetylase activity in the mitochondria. Over-expression of SIRT3 causes increased levels of the mitochondrial uncoupling protein 1. Also, in certain breast cancers the levels of SIRT3 protein are found to be extremely high.

    Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
