RBM3belongs to the glycine-rich RNA-binding protein family and encodes a proteinwith one RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain. Bycold shock and low oxygen tension the expression of this gene is induced. Onchromosome 1 a pseudogene exists. Alternate transcriptional splice variants,encoding different isoforms, have beencharacterized. Diseases associated with RBM3include vaccinia, andcryptorchidism.
